Para Pickleball is an inclusive form of pickleball created to provide players with disabilities the opportunity to participate, compete and excel in the sport. The International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA) promotes the development of Para Pickleball worldwide through athlete participation, sport-specific classification, rules, education, coaching, competitions and international events. Para Pickleball includes Wheelchair, Standing, Dwarf-Short Stature, Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy categories, creating opportunities for Para Pickleball Players to compete in a fair, structured and inclusive sporting environment.
The International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA) is the World Governing Body for Para Pickleball, founded by Raghu Kumar Raghavelu to develop, govern and promote Para Pickleball worldwide. IPPA establishes international standards for Para Pickleball rules, classification, athlete development, competitions and world rankings, while supporting the growth of the sport across countries and regions. IPPA is committed to creating inclusive opportunities for athletes with disabilities to participate and compete in Para Pickleball at national and international levels

The IPPA Book of Rules is the official rulebook for international Para Pickleball, establishing standardized rules and regulations for the sport worldwide. Authored by Raghu Kumar Raghavelu, Founder of the International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA), the IPPA Book of Rules provides the framework for Para Pickleball competition, including athlete eligibility, classification, playing rules, equipment, scoring, officiating and competition regulations. The rules are designed to support fair, safe, inclusive and consistent competition across Wheelchair, Standing, Dwarf/Short Stature, Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy Para Pickleball.

Wheelchair Para Pickleball is an inclusive sport for players who use wheelchairs, with IPPA Classification categories PP51 to PP57, providing opportunities to participate, compete and excel through specialized rules and accessible competition.

Dwarf-Short Stature Para Pickleball is an inclusive sport for players with dwarfism or short stature, with IPPA Classification categories including PP40, PP41 and PP40-41 Assisted, providing opportunities to participate, compete and excel in Para Pickleball.

Standing Para Pickleball for players with upper-limb and lower-limb disabilities and amputations, with IPPA Classification categories PP42, PP43 and PP44, including SLA-BK, DLA-BK, SLA-AK, DLA-AK and ULD, providing opportunities to participate, compete and excel through specialized rules and accessible competition.

Intellectual Disabilities Para Pickleball is an inclusive sport for players with intellectual disabilities, with IPPA Classification categories PP20-A, PP20-B, PP20-C and PP20-D, providing opportunities to participate, compete and excel through specialized rules, classification and accessible competition.

Cerebral Palsy Para Pickleball is an inclusive sport for players with cerebral palsy, with IPPA Classification categories PP1 to PP8, providing opportunities to participate, compete and excel through specialized rules, classification and accessible competition.

IPPA Licensed Para Pickleball Players are invited to apply for selection to compete in the IPPA Ranking Certified Gold Label Event, which is part of the inclusive pickleball initiatives supporting the Indian Para Pickleball League and the international para pickleball movement.

Event recognition relies on meeting IPPA’s stringent standards for technical quality, classification, international participation, and adherence to anti-doping and event management protocols, all of which contribute to the growth of para pickleball.
