What is Para Pickleball?

Dwarf Pickleball - PP41 & PP41 Category

Para Pickleball for Dwarfs refers to adapted pickleball designed for athletes with short stature, including individuals with forms of dwarfism or other conditions affecting height and limb proportions. Para Pickleball for standing lower limb disabilities refers to adapted pickleball designed for athletes with physical impairments affecting one or both legs, who are able to compete in a standing position. These may include individuals with amputations, limb length discrepancies, joint limitations, muscle weakness, or neurological conditions that impact lower body movement, balance, or mobility. Para Wheelchair Pickleball refers to adapted pickleball designed for athletes with physical impairments who require the use of a wheelchair for sport, as defined under the PP51 to PP57 classification categories of the International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA).
These classifications encompass a range of lower limb and trunk impairments, including spinal cord injuries, lower limb amputations, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and other mobility-related disabilities.
