WORLD WHEELCHAIR PICKLEBALL

World Wheelchair Pickleball is the dedicated global department of the International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA) responsible for the development, governance, technical standards and promotion of Wheelchair Pickleball worldwide. 

World Wheelchair Pickleball is a Category Department within IPPA, operating under the overall governance and authority of the International Para Pickleball Association. 

It develops international standards, competition regulations, athlete eligibility, classification systems, technical officials and pathways for the worldwide development of Wheelchair Pickleball. 

Players with eligible permanent physical impairments who satisfy IPPA eligibility requirements and meet the functional criteria for wheelchair competition may participate. 

IPPA Wheelchair Pickleball Classification assesses eligible impairment and its functional impact on pickleball performance and assigns athletes to the PP51–PP57 sport classes to support fair and equitable competition. 

A unified technical structure ensures consistent rules, eligibility, classification, competition standards and athlete pathways across countries and prevents fragmentation of international Wheelchair Pickleball. 

 The objective is to establish a transparent, standardized and internationally coordinated pathway for Wheelchair Pickleball, providing athletes with opportunities to train, compete and progress from national to international level under consistent IPPA standards.
