INTERNATIONAL PARA PICKLEBALL ASSOCIATION
Pickleball players with disabilities are currently excluded from mainstream competition, including the Paralympics. Standing categories in Table Tennis and Badminton are already recognized at the Paralympics, and we believe Para Pickleball deserves the same status.
Through strategic partnerships, athlete development, and adherence to international sport governance, the IPPA is positioning Para Pickleball for future inclusion in the Paralympic Games.
Para Pickleball embodies the core values of the Paralympic movement courage, determination, inspiration, and equality. As a fast-growing, highly accessible sport, it provides athletes of all abilities with a dynamic platform for competition, skill development, and community engagement. Its inclusive design, adaptable rules, and low barrier to entry make it ideal for widespread participation across a diverse range of physical impairments. Moreover, Para Pickleball fosters international representation and sportsmanship, with an expanding global athlete base and established organizational support through bodies like the IPPA. Including Para Pickleball in the Paralympic Games would not only elevate the sport but also further the mission of promoting inclusivity, innovation, and excellence on the world’s most prestigious adaptive sports stage. - Raghu Kumar R
